It is our tradition to celebrate Women Empowerment Day each year by honoring Neighborhood Heroes who have made a lasting impact on our community. This year, we are combining this celebration with our Eid festivities and hosting a fundraiser for the Shehzori Guest House, an affordable housing project for Muslim women in New Jersey. This new initiative is designed to provide long-term, affordable solutions for low-income Muslim women and their children. Click here for more information about Shehzori Project.
Event Overview: The Shehzori Guest House Fundraiser, 7th Women's Empowerment Gala, and Neighborhood Heroes Award Ceremony have a threefold mission: 1. 7th Women's Empowerment Gala & Neighborhood Heroes Award Ceremony: In addition to the Shehzori Guest House fundraiser, we will host the 7th Women Empowerment Gala and Neighborhood Heroes Award Ceremony. This event celebrates the outstanding achievements of Pakistani-American women and honors six "Neighborhood Heroes" for their exceptional contributions—five women and one "role-model man" who has worked to eliminate gender disparities and promote allyship. The event emphasizes the importance of collaboration between women and men to drive meaningful social change. The evening will also serve as a platform to inspire future generations by showcasing the success stories of Pakistani-American women. It provides an opportunity for attendees to network and collaborate with accomplished individuals, fostering connections that can help shape the future. 2. Shehzori Guest House Fundraiser: The primary goal of this fundraiser is to raise essential funds for the development of affordable housing dedicated to women and children of South-Asian Muslim descent. Located in New Jersey, this initiative builds upon the success of the Shehzori House Shelter and is a critical philanthropic effort to provide long-term support for vulnerable members of our community. By promoting empowerment, security, and opportunity, we aim to create a lasting social impact. 3. Eid Celebration: Additionally, we are hosting an Eid Celebration as a third key part of the evening, bringing together the community to celebrate and strengthen our bonds. This gathering will foster unity, cultural appreciation, and collaboration for continued community development. We look forward to seeing everyone in their festive outfits, as we come together to celebrate and build a stronger, more connected community. Additional Entertainment: The evening will feature a musical performance by local Pakistani artists, including Daanish Ahmad, Farzana Haqqi, and Nuzhat Iqbal, who will showcase beautiful Pakistani songs. This program is sponsored by Synergistic Connections, a key initiative of the Women 2 Women Forum. We invite you to join us for an inspiring evening that celebrates empowerment, community, and the spirit of collaboration.
