Each year, it is our tradition to celebrate Women’s Empowerment Day during Women’s Month by honoring one another and recognizing our “Neighborhood Heroes” — individuals who have made a lasting impact on our community.This year, we are proud to combine this meaningful celebration with a fundraiser for the Shehzori Housing Project, an initiative dedicated to supporting Muslim women facing housing challenges in New Jersey. The project aims to provide both short-term shelter and long-term affordable housing solutions for low-income Muslim women and their children.

Event Overview
The 8th International Women’s Day Gala & Shehzori Project Fundraiser is guided by a threefold mission: to celebrate achievement, empower our community, and unite them through meaningful philanthropic efforts.1. 8th International Women’s Day GalaWe proudly host the Neighborhood Heroes Award Ceremony as a significant part of the gala. This special evening celebrates the outstanding achievements of Pakistani-American women and honors six Neighborhood Heroes, including five exceptional women and one role-model man, who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership in advancing gender equity and fostering allyship.
The event underscores the importance of collaboration between women and men in driving meaningful social change. It also serves as an inspiring platform for future generations by showcasing powerful success stories and creating opportunities for networking, mentorship, and partnership among accomplished leaders in our community.
2. Shehzori Project Fundraiser
The primary goal of this fundraiser is to raise vital funds for the development of affordable housing dedicated to women and children of South Asian Muslim descent in New Jersey. Building upon the success of the Shehzori House Shelter, this initiative represents a critical step toward providing long-term stability and support for vulnerable families.By promoting empowerment, security, and opportunity, the Shehzori Project seeks to create sustainable impact and lasting change within our community.
3. Bringing Community Together
At its heart, this evening is about unity. We are bringing our community together to celebrate, connect, and strengthen the bonds that uplift us all. This gathering will foster meaningful networking, cultural appreciation, and collaborative partnerships that support continued growth and development.
We invite guests to join us in festive attire as we honor our shared heritage, celebrate collective achievements, and build a stronger, more connected future together.

The evening will feature a special musical performance by local Pakistani artist Haadi Uppal, who will present a selection of beloved Pakistani songs. The program is proudly sponsored by Synergistic Connections, a key initiative of the Women 2 Women Forum.
